“Curiosity is the doorway to compassion.”

Jeannie Ward

Jeannie is an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker (AMHSW) and is certified in Counselling, Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP) and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR). Jeannie has over 12 years of experience supporting infants, children, adolescents, adults, and families across community mental health, not-for-profit organisations, therapeutic services, disability, and private practice.

Jeannie believes healing begins when people feel safe enough to share their story and offers therapeutic supports that are rooted in warmth and safety. She values genuine connection and creates a warm, compassionate space where people feel heard, understood, and supported.

Working with Jeannie

Jeannie’s practice is grounded in a humanistic, person-centred, and relational approach. She see every person as unique, with their own strengths, experiences, and capacity for growth. Therapy creates the conditions where healing, understanding and growth can occur.

The foundations of her work are informed by attachment theory, developmental neuroscience, Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and other evidence-based, trauma-informed approaches. These approaches help Jeannie to structure therapeutic sessions and offer an understanding of how relationships, early experiences, and the nervous system shape wellbeing throughout life.

No matter who Jeannie works with, she holds a deep understanding that healing occurs within the context of safe relationships. For infants and children, this often means supporting parents and carers alongside the child, recognising that strengthening these important relationships can create lasting change.

Jeannie’s approach to therapy is warm, gentle, and collaborative. She offers a space where you can slow down, feel genuinely heard, and explore your experiences without judgement or pressure. Together, you’ll develop an approach that reflects your goals, strengths, and unique story.

There is no one-size-fits-all approach to therapy. Every person arrives with a different story, and Jeannie feels privileged to walk alongside each individual with compassion, curiosity, and hope.
