Individual Therapy

“We heal in relationship — with ourselves, with others, and through experiences of safety, connection and being understood".

Therapy begins with understanding your story. Together, we identify your goals and create a therapeutic plan that reflects your individual needs.

At Nourish, Therapy (sometimes called Psychotherapy or Counselling) is trauma informed and individually tailored to the needs, goals, and stage of life of every person. Guided by attachment, developmental and trauma-informed principles, Jeannie works with her clients to develop an understanding of their experiences to support meaningful, lasting change.

Jeannie offers Individual sessions for all ages from Infants to Adults and utilises proven, evidence-based therapies and tools to suit age based and individual needs for healing and growth.

Individual Sessions for Children & Infants

For young people, Therapy often looks different from traditional talk therapy as children communicate, process, and heal through play, movement, creativity, and relationships. At Nourish we take a nurturing approach to meet each child at their stage of development to help create a sense of safety, support emotional expression, and build the foundations for healthy development.

Individual Sessions for Adults and Teenagers

Sessions provide a compassionate, collaborative space to explore life's challenges, better understand patterns and experiences, strengthen emotional wellbeing, and develop practical tools for lasting change with a range of therapeutic tools that work best for the needs of each client.

EMDR Therapy

Sessions at Nourish may also include EMDR as a therapeutic tool. EMDR is recognised as an evidence-based treatment for trauma and post-traumatic stress and may also support recovery from other distressing life experiences. Everyone’s’ journey is different, and EMDR is only introduced when it is clinically appropriate and when you feel adequately prepared.

You can learn more about EMDR on our Resources page

“The experience of being cared for is profound, and it nourishes the soul as much as the food does the body.”
